- ZED Pinup by Stan Sakai -
November 5, 2004 - Stan and I met last Febuary for the first time at the Emerald City Comicon (2004), and we were both guests of honor at Philadelphia's Anthrocon (2004) last July. (click here to read Stan's Anthrocon report) .
For those who don't know, Stan is the creator of the hugely popular Usagi Yojimbo comic series. I've been slowly reading through the trade series and I just can't recommend it highly enough. Stan is truly a modern master of storytelling.
He is also a very nice man and we immediately struck a friendship. Last Spring, we collaborated on the cover illustration for the Anthrocon program and were delighted to learn that it fetched a nice price at the Anthrocon charity auction. While in Philadelphia, we promised to trade pinups for our respective comic series.
